All support services at Project 10 are free, confidential, anonymous and open to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth between the ages of 14 to 25.

Our support services include: 1-on-1 active listening appointments, off-site accompaniments, and on-going guidance when navigating public health and social systems. The guiding ethical values and principles that inform how we offer our support services are rooted in on-going informed consent, individual agency, empowerment, transparent communication, compassion, and accountability.

What this looks like in practice is meeting you where you’re at, moving at your pace, working together to come up with care plans, creating community connections, and strengthening your skills and knowledge.

Your consent and agency are at the center of our intake process.

Our peer support service techniques come from these approaches:

  • Harm reduction: honouring your body, your rules with intention and care

  • Person-centered: nobody but you is the expert on you, tell us what you need

  • Strengths-based: you are the main character, using your strengths to achieve goals

  • Trauma-informed: trauma & its impacts = real, not here to re-traumatize

  • Anti-oppressive: oppression = interconnected at all levels, here to fight for social justice

  • Intersectionality: all parts of identity are interdependent and create unique realities of oppression, individualized support services are essential

What this looks like in practice is holding space to authentically listen to what you have to say, trusting that you know what is best for you, and finding ways to get you the support you deserve to thrive. Overall, P10 offers other forms of support like:

  • Access to free safer sex materials

  • Harm reduction supplies

  • Menstrual products

  • Snacks

  • An open and welcoming space to meet other queer youths.

We also provide additional organizational referrals within the city, and offer informative resources curated for individual needs. Our support services are available:

  • In person

  • Online (emails, zoom meetings = P10 cameras on, yours can be off/on)

  • By phone

What this means is knowing that all information given on the intake form is kept confidential and only shared between P10 workers as necessary. Intake questions are used to help us understand individual needs exclusively.

If this sounds uncomfortable, you are more than welcome to send an email directly to support@p10.qc.ca.

1-1 appointments

1-1 Active Listening appointments can be with any member of our intervention team. This includes social work, art therapy, youth work and other interns as well as intervention staff. No matter who you are with for your 1-1 appointments, whatever is shared remains confidential, private, and consent-focused.

The only time your confidential information is shared outside of P10 is if you are in immediate danger to yourself or others

All P10 workers and interns, are committed to offering a non-judgemental, authentically compassionate, radically accepting space through active listening, honouring boundaries, respecting consent, and upholding agency. All personnel are trained in intervention. Appointment times can vary in length due to the sensitivity, complexity, and needs of each of you folks.

  • provide on-going guidance when navigating the public health and social systems.

Depending on your individual context, needs and goals the type of accompaniment will vary to be best suited for you.

You can use this form to file an accompaniment request.

Our community kitchen is intended for youth visiting during drop-in hours, yet if folks visiting P10 would like a snack, we can and do share! Since we are not a food bank we are limited in our ability and capacity to share food. If you are in need of long-term and sustainable food security support, we have a spot on our website dedicated to this.

The community kitchen has a rotating selection of varied snacks and drinks. The community kitchen is equipped with a  microwave to warm up your  food, a kettle for hot chocolates and tea, filtered water and a mini oven!

ATTENTION!

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that our community appliances are safe from cross contamination with common allergens like gluten or peanuts.
